David is a senior banker with more than 40 years of professional experience, including in the City in London. For the last 20 years he has been involved in Central and Eastern Europe, focussing on strategic and financial corporate restructuring.

Specifically, he worked as Head of Restructuring and Head of Central European Bad Debts Unit at ČSOB for 18 years. Subsequently he worked as Chief Restructuring Officer of Czech Export Bank.

David's previous experience further includes the post of Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of VSŽ Košice and the post of member of the Supervisory Board of Nová Huť. In the position of chairman / board member he further managed numerous companies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and in Greece.

Today, David is a Member of the Supervisory Board of NLB d.d. the largest systemic bank in Slovenia where he is also Chairman of the Audit Committee . David is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Jihlavan.


David is originally from the United Kingdom. He has lived In the Czech Republic since 1994.

The largest company and the largest integrated steel plant in the Slovak Republic passed the first phase of the stabilization and subsequent extensive operational restructuring. The key point was to secure a strategic partner. David contributed both from his position in the Supervisory Board and as a member of the banking support group enabling the company to recover within two years and saving more than 25 000 jobs.

Jihlavan is another example of a combination of operational improvements with successful business expansion.

Business relations with SLS customer have been developed thanks to a strategy targeted on becoming the supplier of choice for OEMs in the aerospace industry. Via SLS, Jihlavan now participates in deliveries to Airbus.

On the operational side, internal production capacities have been increased by one third due to the removal of bottlenecks in the production process and an increase in internal efficiency of 9%.
